Email - NHS - April 03. 2006

Dear NHS,

The Beijing side of the Book Exchange has already collected 30 books - Each book including one form filled out by a Chinese student.
There are still more to come.

How about the AIS side of things?

Important notice 1:

The important thing about the Book Exchange is NOT donating books.

The main idea is to bridge a cultural gap and learn about cultural diversity. By initiating this project, I wanted to create a people-to-people program. The Book Exchange does NOT seek to anonymously donate money or books, but to stretch out your hand to a Chinese student and to find someone on the other side of the planet stretching his/her hand back out to you.

THUS, I would strongly like to encourage AIS students to fill out the form on their part (Photograph, email, interests). Since this can be a hassle, I have attached an online form, which can be emailed back to me anytime.

This form is ALSO posted on the Book Exchange Web-page ()

Important notice 2:

As Chinese students have only studied English for around 4 years, it is difficult for them to read an entire English novel. Books from the AIS High School Library will be difficult for them to read, so please send Middle School - level books, simple magazines, comic books, poetry or story books.

Quick reminder:

All news and emails are posted on the website:

I sent an invitation to all NHS members I have emails of - This allows you to post information yourself (Which anyone can access easily - thus making it easier to organize ideas, thoughts and prevent misunderstandings)

Please let me know if anyone else would like to receive the invitation.

Best wishes from LuHe High School, Beijing, China =)

Caroline Schwanzer
