Mission Statement

Book Exchange Mission Statement
LuHe Beijing – AIS Vienna

The Book Exchange is a project designed to foster and promote an exchange of ideas, thoughts and cultural ideals by means of sharing one’s favorite book with a student of another nation. This project is a new means of seeking understanding between students from two different countries, on opposite ends of the planet.

The Book Exchange Project seeks to aid Chinese students (At LuHe High School in Beijing, China – One of the top schools in Beijing), promoting them to improve their English by communicating with an international student at AIS Vienna, Austria in Europe (One of the leading international schools in Austria) over email, by writing letters or communicating with them verbally.

On the other side (At AIS Vienna, Austria), the Book Exchange Project is intended to help international students gain a better understanding of globalization through a confrontation with a peer (Their age) from the country with, currently, the biggest economics growth: China.

This project applies globalization to schools – Through this, economics and globalization receives a human touch, and is more easily understood by students who are eager to learn about today’s working world.

Caroline and friends,
I am impressed with your project, especially with the integrative spirit behind it. "Globalization" has become a word with many negative connotations. This project shows us a much-needed positive side of the ongoing trend to perceive the world as our Global Village. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress!
